WEDDING VENDORS FOR THE CANADA WEDDING
There aren’t many people in this world who are lucky enough to say that they married their high school sweetheart but we happen to be one of those couples. Kaelan and I were set up by a very good friend of ours and nine and a half years later, we finally walked down the aisle making our partnership official.
It started with a romantic mountain top proposal over Thanksgiving weekend (Canadian style) in Lake Placid New York and ended on a perfect June afternoon with all of our friends, family and my grade 6 class with us to celebrate.
Planning a wedding is a process that I will never forget. My inspiration came from a bridal magazine that was given to me as an engagement gift from one of my bridesmaids and a very good friend. The tiffany blue in this magazine popped off the page and I fell in love instantly. My sister and Made of Honour Brittany matched the tiffany with beautiful copper dresses and thus our elegant colour theme came together! My best friend who was almost 8 months pregnant at the time had a dress made that matched perfectly with the others. After searching for months, we found the perfect dress for our flower girl Lainey on Pegeen’s website. The tiffany of her dress pulled our entire look together and as you can see in the photos, it looked gorgeous. Being from Canada my only concern was that the dress get here in time for the wedding. Pegeen’s service was prompt and professional and they made sure to keep in touch with us regarding the shipping process. They tracked the dress right to our flower girl’s front door.
We decided to bring a little bit of my love for the ocean into our wedding theme. Our flower girl carried our rings down the aisle in a seashell designed by a close family friend. We chose tropical flowers that popped against the dresses for our bouquets. The ceremony was very heartfelt and emotional and I am very grateful that we had so many wonderful friends and family there to witness the most important day in our lives.
We continued with our beach theme at the reception by decorating the venue with starfish and seashells. My Mother-in-Law designed and made the beautiful centerpieces that incorporated the beach theme with beautiful orchids. In addition to the centerpieces were many personal touches that my Mom and I must have spent a year and a half collecting such as wicker baskets filled with tiffany sand and seashells. As we entered the hall later that afternoon, the room glowed with candles and it was filled with friends and family who were all ready to celebrate a LONG awaited wedding with us!
Our wedding wouldn’t have been the amazing event that it was without the unconditional love and support of our parents and the incredible vendors who helped make our visions come true. Thanks to everyone’s hard work, Kaelan and I will fondly remember our wedding day as a blur of laughter and love. There’s nothing that compares to marrying your best friend but the day is all the more sweeter when it turns out as perfectly as ours.
