The Princess Kate |
Orlando, FL - Apr 29, 2011 -
Marg Hyland,
founder and head designer of Pegeen® introduces the latest
addition to the Regal Collection - her take on the flower girl
dresses used in the royal wedding, The Princess Kate. The dress
has 5 pleats on the sash, is made of duchess silk satin or shantung
silk, has a gorded skirt with a wide flair at the bottom and Engish
Nottingham lace hem covering 12 layers of tulle and underpinnings,
darling Nottingham lace-trimmed sleeves and finished with silk
covered buttons. Pegeen calls this style simply, the "Princess
Kate" or style #601. The entire Regal Collection can be seen
by visiting Pegeen.com for details.
Pegeen's workroom and employees were poised at 4am.
Not quite as hectic as planning the wedding, yet the "elves" at
Pegeen have been busy getting ready for the Royal Wedding of Prince
William and Kate, so April 29th was no exception, only the work
day started with lots of coffee at 4am.
"We have been thinking about this wedding since last September, even before
Prince William decided when to propose. So early Friday morning, we were eagerly
awaiting the entire affair, but to have copied the designs, it was not even on
our plate, until...".
"Honestly, when a customer calls us and asks us to copy a dress they found,
we say that we keep blinders on and won't copy any other's designs. But today,
while watching the wedding, I said - Hey that dress is similar to our style 694,
402 and of course our pleated sash, not to mention our style 397 with dozens
of yards of Nottingham Lace". What Marg just rattled off was just four of
her many designs created by her in her 30 years of experience. "I constantly
keep my eye open for design inspiration, even seeing the colors for our next
line, The Nutcracker Line, while shopping last year for Christmas florals. Any
new trends in design translates to special occasion wear and weddings. Today
we just wanted to watch the festivities together for fun. However, that changed
when we saw the children - it resembled so many of our classic Pegeen designs."
Created by Marg Hyland, founder and head designer
of Pegeen® , the latest addition to the Regal Collection is "Princess
Kate" - her take on the flower girl dresses used in the royal
wedding. The entire collection introduced in December 2010, includes
flower girl dresses and ring bearers' suits appropriate for any
child attending or participating in a wedding planned for the most
royal of occasions. For every bride who wants to feel like royalty
on her special day.
Each dress is a totally new design, made with fabrics such as duchess
silk satin, custom made brocades, optional monogramming and other
available customizations, feathers and jewels, damask and yards
of imported French ribbon and tulle, with names reflecting designs
appropriate to different periods in history such as Guinevere,
Marie Antoinette, Elizabeth, Grace, Isabella, and even Bloody Mary
(a beautiful red flower girl dress which will be perfect for weddings
during the holidays). Hyland has introduced a total of eleven (11)
flower girl dresses, and has even provided two (2) perfect little
boys' period outfits: the James and the William. This collection
is expected to quickly become one of Pegeen®'s most in-demand
lines of all time. And considering the current economy, for Couture
Dresses, the price is right. These period flower girl dresses start
at only $300 and the boys' outfits at $250.
