Who or rather What I admire in the Bridal Industry….

April 21st, 2009 by Pegeen.com | 1 Comment | Filed in Wedding Planning

BrideTide had recently put a challenge up to wedding professionals to write about someone in the industry that they admire.  I am positive that there will be those who will write about someone who they really believe deserves mention and I can hardly wait to read everyone’s posts.  That said, however, and being one of the very first companies to get onto the internet in the mid-1990’s I am going to do something a little more TIME MAGAZINE like and instead, name what I believe has helped, or more dramatically, changed the wedding industry more than any other thing and that is our friend, THE INTERNET. Destination Wedding Lake Tahoe

April 11th, 2009 by Pegeen.com | No Comments | Filed in Destination Weddings, Flower Girl Dresses, Pink Weddings

From time to time I get a photo from a bride where the picture and the setting just about knock my socks off.

This lovely wedding was photographed in Lake Tahoe and the bride chose to have her ringbearer vests made in our bubblegum pink silk and the matching flower girl dresses in bubblegumpink and black.

Another wedding in the same pink and black themed wedding was done differently and we loved that as well.  So much so that we named her wedding the Flower Girl Dress of the Month.

Chocolate brown flower girl dresses of the month – April 2009

April 4th, 2009 by Pegeen.com | No Comments | Filed in Brown Weddings, Flower Girl Dresses, Wedding Dress Styles, Wedding TIPS

Each month, we highlight one of our favorite weddings, and this was a knock out.

Lori had six little flower girls – all nieces and two ring bearers – her nephews.

This was a fun wedding for us to make because of the joy of having all the grandchildren in the wedding for Wanda was really exciting for the bride.  They worked together on just the right look and we think it was a winner.  Visit Pegeen.com for the wedding of the month and view past weddings for all your wedding ideas.

Post WWll Brides – reflections on my mother’s wedding day

April 1st, 2009 by Pegeen.com | No Comments | Filed in Ivory or Gold Weddings, Tulle dresses

Wedding themes from today’s brides are so much more sophisticated than our grandmother’s and our mother’s day.  I looked back over photographs from my mothers wedding after her funeral early in the month.  It was Post War when wars had capital letters and brides were anxious to marry their beaus after many years of correspondence of their soldiers who were fighting in far away places like Okinawa or Dunkerque.  Weddings were planned over weekends and themes were non existent.

But, curiosity got me looking over her photos from her wedding and I started to dig a bit deeper in the photo vault of other relatives and then discovered a common thread among the pictures.  Multiple colors.  My mother’s bridesmaids had on tulle dresses (did I mention that was also common during and after the war) in several different colors.  I never asked her but imagine she bought them at Macy’s or Gimbel’s in colors of ice cream.  So, here is my take on something that I could imagine could be worn back in the late 1940’s or early 50’s by flower girls.
