It was very hard for us here at Pegeen to do much of anything today. At the time of 9.11 we lived outside of New York City and so many of us were affected. My son still suffers from anxiety but at least I have my son; so many parents lost their children, their spouses, their loved ones. We moved away from New York after that, it was too hard on him but so many others were not able to move away from the sadness and the loss. Still, so many more suffer today and it was evident in the faces of the families and loved ones who spoke the name of their loved ones who perished on that day, and those brave men and women who left to fight the battle and to protect us. And, we are also grateful to those who perished at the Pentagon and all those in Pennsylvania who heroically brought that plane down in a field to save others.
For us here at Pegeen, it will never be a DAY OF SERVICE, it will forever be a DAY OF REMEMBRANCE. (more…)
