This client chose to base her flower girl dresses on style 402 and wanted us to layer specified colors of tulle within a pattern of lilacs, lavenders and light ivory’s.  We made the base color of the silk in lavender shantung with a wisteria colored sash dress. It cost only $50 more – and topped it with an elegant silk hydrangea bunch for her flower girl dress style 402. We love the Holidays – and last night I was inspired to think about them more as we visited our favorite tradition of the past few years – The Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios, Disney World.  While I can’t say I miss the snow, I love the colors of Christmas, especially red.

Flower girl dresses in Petal Pink with Pin Tuck and Pearled Bodice in silk (Style 409) and Jr. Bridesmaids Dresses (style 409) and Page Boy Suits in Spun Gold Silk with pin tuck and pearled vest and knickers. (Style 267)   There is something special about pin tuck and pearl silk that I just love – it has a beautiful luster to it and the silk is luxurious.  The girl’s silk dresses are made with a full gathered skirt and an attached crinoline, as all of our dresses come with crinolines.   The bride chose sleeveless version for the older, jr bridesmaids and for the flower girl, a short sleeve.  All the dresses were accented with Petal Pink sashes although the older girls dresses were in Spun Gold.  As always, the dresses are available in 200+ colors of silk although there are a limited number of pin tuck and pearled silk colors (about 14) for the bodice.   Photography by Chuck Eaton.

We created a special dress for a beach wedding called STYLE 333.  I am reminded of it as my family members (up North) are cranking about the cold weather and we are enjoying the beaches in Southwest Florida,  During this warm Holiday weekend, my kids and I are back at our favorite shell beach when the kids asked if they could gather shells for any weddings coming up.  I truly think it’s their way of getting me away from the blackberry and laptop but heck, in a boat we are going first thing tomorrow morning.  Remember, with shells you have to air them out and dry them in the sun to reduce the smell.

It is hard for us to resist thinking warm, beach weddings.  Quite frankly, because we are located in Florida, warm weather is a natural occurrence.   However, many wedding couples think these same, warm thoughts in the winter and plan their weddings at tropical destinations like Florida,  the Virgin Islands, or even Bora Bora (yes, we mistakenly called a bride on her honeymoon to ask her how her wedding went as we typically do a few weeks after their wedding, but that’s a different and embarrassing story).   One of our favorite customers ordered her dresses for her girls for their second wedding that they were flower girls in.  These triplets wore coral colored silk and tulle, degas style flower girl dresses.

We were especially pleased when our customer sent their photograph of their darling little girl appearing in a Christmas Pageant.  This fairy flower girl dress, style 501 is made in shades of green silk and multiple colors of tulle.  Tinkerbell Fairy Tulle dress with covered buttons, over tulle skirt (with glitter tulle) is also removable and can be worn separately.

This dress is part of the new FAIRIES collection we are putting together — it is called style 501 and we call it TINKERBELL – this is shown in shades of green and is just to the knee. The Skirt (with the extra tulle layers) is removable. There is a double layer of tulle over the silk and on the tutu-there are multiple colors.

When picking a style for an infant or toddler, anything can go BUT sometimes the simple flower girl dress styles are quite lovely. Loved it!  Can’t say more!!  This pink couture flower girl dress is in Ballet Pink silk with an Antique White silk sash and a beautiful handmade silk flower in the same pink color.  We covered the 12 layers of tulle and silk with a crystal tulle which brings a shimmer quality to the skirt which is especially beautiful when the tulle is caught in candlelight.
