I was especially honored to attend my son’s teacher and mentor who was married this weekend at the Rosen Center in Orlando.  Believe it or not, there were OTHER weddings besides Chelsea Clinton’s wedding this weekend!

Although I will be sad to see Denisha move to Boston, her husband decided to wow us all with vows he decided to sing.  While we guests all tearfully listened to Denisha’s beautifully written vows, spoken in barely a whisper,  coming from a musical family, I was thrilled to hear the music come up and Michael McDonald sing the most soulful version of his vows.  I was mesmerized.  When is he going to start recording?  Can I book him for my own vow-renewals I wondered?  Well, in any event, as promised, here were the two little flower girl dresses by Pegeen that the girls wore in Tiffany and Antique White silk dresses with Tiffany or White Tulle.   The smaller girl had additional petals in her flower girl dress.

I only wish that I could attend more weddings because it really was wonderful helping to tie the bows, watching the munchkins dance and listen  to their plans to attend Disney the  day after the wedding.

I just got these pictures from a customer’s wedding in June who choose chocolate and Tiffany blue for her flower girl dresses and Jr. Bridesmaids.  I loved her flowers!  This weekend I will be attending a wedding for my son’s dear sweet Athletic Trainer who is going to be leaving his school (sigh).  Will post them too! Can’t wait because I don’t get to see very many of my Pegeen flower girl dresses in action !

Such is the Flower Girl Dress of the Week.  This beautiful silk dress, going to the United Kingdom is in Baby Pink Silk with a light pink sequined silk bodice an the skirt is covered with tulle.  The sash is in a hot pink called CERISE and the flowers, oh those BEAUTIFUL silk flowers are multi-colored peony flowers that remind me of our beloved English Tudor & gardens we left behind in New Jersey when we decided to make the move to Florida for better factory space and expert seamstresses.   That however, is a different story.

I got a call from a bride’s mom who is planning a wedding in California.  They had been looking at Pegeen.com for quite some time and were ready to place their order for “the dress” which is to also be her granddaughter’s flower girl dress.

I was very excited to learn that David Tutera is their wedding planner.  I love this planners work and am so very happy that finally, he’s going to see my work too!

Our Choice for the DIY 2010 Wedding of the Year

A real DIY Wedding, Megan (our bride) called me to say she was looking for a real Sea-Glass kind of color scheme.  I knew exactly what she wanted since I was in the process of dreaming the same colors for our new offices about to be completed!   Her reception and ceremony was held in Lexington KY. Because we had so many BEAUTIFUL weddings to choose from, this year we decided to choose a wedding that was totally done by the bride, enlisting the help with her friends, who were “a huge help pulling the wedding together”.  Megan’s budget was $30,000 for 300 guests ~ that’s an amazing $100 per guest for EVERYTHING.  We won’t say we choose Megan’s wedding as our DIY Wedding/Flower Girl Dress of the Year because of the economy (urgh) – instead we chose it because Chloe, Lauren and Lisi who were three of the most beautiful flower girls in our dresses !! Our bride chose Flower Girl Dress style 356 in ivory with three shades of aqua silk.  As soon as Megan said to us “I want the wedding to be in shade of “sea glass” we got IMMEDIATELY what she said and we were VERY excited to see the girls walking down the aisle in Pegeen!  The dresses were in ivory duchess satin with tulle and each had a different color of aqua or tiffany… Bermuda (the darkest shade), Sea Shore, and Aqualine silk was used for the sashes on the flower girl dresses.

It kills me that someone would actually be influenced on this very important question, but I WAS asked…. so here is my answer.

What ever you want!  I have had brides who only have children in their wedding party, and some mix it up with both but who could exclude someone close to them?  I DON’T think that all all the flower girl dresses  have to match, pick a style which is more appropriate to their age – or mix it up for something different.

Here are quite a number of flower girl dresses we made for a wedding party and flanked, on either side, are the junior bridesmaids in Navy and White with Hot Pink Sashes.

Another wedding we recently did was for a Jewish Wedding held in New York. Except for us adding long sleeves (3/4 sleeves actually) to the flower girl dresses, this bride chose different styles for the Jr. Bridesmaids and the flower girl dresses, but used ivory and light gray (platinum) sashes.
