Each month,  Pegeen.com gets to highlight a wedding that has recently occurred.  It is difficult to sometimes choose, as each wedding is so different, yet so lovely.

Our 2009-2010 Finalist for wedding of the year comes from Sarah of Minnesota.  Her photographer was Eliesa Johnson of Photogen Inc.  We absolutely loved the flower girl dress she chose – a silk pintuck bodice with a peach silk skirt and light baby blue silk sash and flowers.

It kills me that someone would actually be influenced on this very important question, but I WAS asked…. so here is my answer.

What ever you want!  I have had brides who only have children in their wedding party, and some mix it up with both but who could exclude someone close to them?  I DON’T think that all all the flower girl dresses  have to match, pick a style which is more appropriate to their age – or mix it up for something different.

Here are quite a number of flower girl dresses we made for a wedding party and flanked, on either side, are the junior bridesmaids in Navy and White with Hot Pink Sashes.

Another wedding we recently did was for a Jewish Wedding held in New York. Except for us adding long sleeves (3/4 sleeves actually) to the flower girl dresses, this bride chose different styles for the Jr. Bridesmaids and the flower girl dresses, but used ivory and light gray (platinum) sashes.

Making flower girl dresses isn’t all we do at Pegeen. We are also well known for our ability to fit larger and older girls, called Junior Bridesmaids. These Jr. Bridesmaids Dresses were made in Navy Silk and called style 320 with two lovely flowers in the back.  In a recent wedding, photographed by Christopher Lane, these 4 ladies stood at attendance with the bride.

Flower girl dresses in tulle are our favorite to make – each one individual like a tiny sugar plum fairy. This wedding for Ranae had wonderful photography by www.rayanthonyphoto.com. The bride had chosen a special color blue sapphire to go with her maid of honor and a boy’s ring bearer suit with white silk knickers and shirt and a double breasted sapphire blue jacket.

Ranae had the most wonderful use of flowers on her pews and centerpieces and repeated in the hand made flowers on her cake.

I have said it before, I can’t get through the Star Spangle Banner without crying.  It could be at my kid’s sports or a dance recital, doesn’t matter…. I sob. I am proud of my country (unlike certain politicians out there that are hell bent on killing everything we stand for) but I am never more proud of our Military and for everything they do for each and every one of us. I was pleasantly surprised when I got back to the Pegeen office this week after a bit of an absence.  It was a frustrating and also a sad time for me – not enough time to get into it here but when I returned I found I was staring at our July 4th week weddings and a tear came down my cheek.  What I saw was tons of red white and blue flower girl dresses!  I LOVE my country.  I promise not to get into politics here but am excited that so many brides have chosen to get out their patriotism.
