You have decided that you are going to have a destination wedding – something different. So where do you start? Do you bring everything? If you leave the country does that mean you will have customs issues?
There are quite a number of books and articles out there on hiring a planner for a destination wedding and I would highly recommend that you choose a planner to help. It’s difficult enough to plan your own wedding without professional help, but from a distance? No way.
This is one of the necessary costs of planning an event at some far off location, from home. I have experienced many weddings where even the smallest details are handled professionally by a planner who has the resources available to him or her and get your wedding off without a hitch. But, one of the often overlooked details is the hiring of a destination photographer, or someone who specializes in destination weddings because the professional photographer will have various techniques not to mention equipment that will be needed for your chosen locale. Our website Pegeen has a list of quite a number of destination photographers, one of my favorites specializing in destination wedding is CorsentinoPhotographer.com

Recommendations: I can’t stop raving about Michael Cortsentino (www.corsentinophotographer.com) Hailing from San Francisco, he did our wedding of the month for August 2008 and I really admire his work. Check out his website and I am sure, like my husband and I who are planning a vow renewal, you will want to bring in this talent. I also love www.thelightphotography.com by Eric McCarty, Pegeen Wedding of the Year for 2007-2008. In fact, Eric’s work was so beautiful that we decided to start our yearly announcement for our favorite wedding of the year. Both photographers are truly remarkable, don’t you think?
