I have said it before, I can’t get through the Star Spangle Banner without crying.  It could be at my kid’s sports or a dance recital, doesn’t matter…. I sob. I am proud of my country (unlike certain politicians out there that are hell bent on killing everything we stand for) but I am never more proud of our Military and for everything they do for each and every one of us. (Yes we have a Military Discount – they deserve my most deep-felt thanks!)  So, from Memorial Day when we remember our soldiers who defended us through the 4th of July when we celebrate our country’s Independence, at Pegeen.com we find we are very busy helping brides celebrate their special days as well!  This has been an extraordinary year for me and yes, when I ship out our flower girl dresses (let’s not forget the boy’s suits)…. each made in our own factory, in the good old

colors of Red, White & Blue, I cry at those being shipped out too.  I know that for some its about the fireworks and the strawberry & blueberry striped cake I made with my mother, but for those brides who choose to make these special holidays a featured theme of their weddings I believe they make their guests reflect in the same manner I do.  No, I don’t expect them to sob during the Super Bowl when I hope to hear my favorite vocalists sing our National Anthem, but hope their guests remember what our country’s principles were when it was founded and the lives of those who fought to protect our freedoms.

I do hope, when we vote in and hopefully out some of our politicians, we think of some of these things.  Sorry for the mention of Politics, but it’s that time of the year.
