June is for Brides and their Daddy’s

Today, I am putting up the final touches on our Wedding of the Month.  It is going to be a very special one with a bride who is celebrating not only her Christian faith and service but a special moment with her father.  So, it brought to me tears when I saw her Dad greet her for the first time as she was getting ready for her wedding.

These photos are going to be highlighted as you will soon see in our June wedding of the month.  But, before I do that, I want to pay tribute to my dad who is the best.  We so frequently in our family say “I love you” to each other when ever we speak on the phone, but Dad, I really mean it from the bottom of my heart.

This year has been especially tough on us all as my mom passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease.  But my father, who has always been the Patriarch of the family, heroically and patiently tended to, cared for and tenderly watched over the love of his life and I grew to love my father even more than I could have imagined.  Dad put his wife above all other concerns and I gained a new example as to how to love my husband.  We watched the struggles he had during her final passing and I am eternally grateful to my siblings.  How close we became to one another, as if we could have grown even closer.  This was in fact because my father taught us to “kiss and make up” after squabbles when we were younger, to be patient with our siblings, and to cheer each other on.  So this unselfishness that he taught us was carried on through the end with my mom.  Thank you Dad, this is your CARD.  I will always love you.
