Silk Flower Girl Dresses are made from natural fibers!
October 4th, 2009 by Pegeen.com | Filed under Flower Girl Dresses, Wedding TIPS.Urgh ! Today at Pegeen I inspected a dress we shipped to a customer who thought that the mark in her dress was a pen mark. Here is the skinny on silk:
Silk dupioni is a hand-woven fabric known for it’s textural qualities and weaves called slubs. It is referred to as ‘raw’ silk and irregularities and variations in the weave are characteristic of the fabric and are not defects. Silk is made from the natural strands of silk created by silk worms and its irregularities are part of its beauty. It is also how you know it is genuine silk. We do not remove these marks because to do so would be like removing the grain in wood.
