WEDDING VENDORS FOR THE WEDDING

August 14, 2010

Bangor , Maine

For Allen and I, our wedding on August 14, 2010 was all about our families and our heritages. As this was a second marriage for both of us, we decided to make the focus of the day be not only about our love for each other, but also the love and appreciation we feel for our children, our family and our friends. (Allen is one of 11 children so his family is huge!) We wanted every aspect of our celebration to be personal, meaningful and fun.

Our first idea was to combine Allen's French heritage with my Irish heritage so we chose the colors lime green and navy blue. We wrote the ceremony together. Our vows included words each of our parents' had spoken as well as our own additions. A harpist played Celtic music and a fiddler and guitarist played French songs. Having grown up in northern Maine, Allen's first language was French so parts of our ceremony were said in French.

We wanted to include our children in the wedding as much as possible. With the help of Summer at finedoodles.com, our placecards and table signs were created by the children. (The children drew pictures and Summer transformed them into beautiful paintings.) The wrap on the photobooth was also designed by Summer, using my own artwork, which had also been on our save-the-date cards. The cake napkins featured Irish and French proverbs, while the cocktail napkins featured "Allen & Liz Trivia" the kids had helped to write.

We felt so blessed the entire day. We had friends and relatives visiting from all over the country. My flower girls were my daughter and my Goddaughter, whose mother, my best friend for the last 26 years, was my matron of honor.

The flower girl dresses were a huge hit. The girls felt so beautiful in them, they just glowed. Our photographer, our DJ and numerous guests all remarked on how beautiful the girls looked. Even our male vocalist commented to me about how the girls and their green dresses were the stars of the night! Having ordered my daughter's First Communion dress from Pegeen, i was aware of their exceptional quality. I did not consider anywhere else for the flower girl dresses. Everyone I spoke to or chatted with online was so friendly and helpful. Their commitment to customer service shines through and I have recommended them to everyone I know who is getting married. Thank you Pegeen!

Hopefully, that;s ok :)
